Student Driver Printable

The light turned red and we stopped. The classy little convertible with an elderly couple behind us honked their horn. Four more honks and I’d had enough! I jumped out, smiled, and said, ‘there’s no turn on red’! Mrs. Convertible scowled at me and said, ‘it’s green now’! I jumped back in the car and we made the right hand turn over the railroad tracks.

Thankfully, it was Blake behind the wheel and not our 15-year-old daughter who is learning to drive. Impatient drivers are nerve-wracking enough to the experienced driver, think of the newbies trying to handle Mr. and Mrs. Convertible on top of driving. That’s enough to rattle a few cages.

Of course we want to protect our daughter from such silliness but feel so helpless. There is one small thing we can do that could possibly deter a few drivers and may even put a smile on their face as they reminisce the good old days!

When I wrote the post, Where’s the Manual for 15-Year-Olds?!, Laurie over at The Frugal Farmer gave me an excellent idea!

Hazel will get to sport a student driver printable next time she hits the road! It’s all ready for her, printed on cardstock, laminated, and smile worthy!

As for Mrs. Convertible, Blake looked in his rear view mirror to see her mouthing ‘sorry’.

Upon making her right hand turn, Mrs. Convertible probably saw the ‘no turn on red’ sign and realized her annoying mistake of honking impatiently.

It's really happening! My 15-year-old is on the open road. How do we let others know to exercise patience?! I created a Student Driver Printable and hope it helps!

Please just know that I have no idea if it is legal or not to use a Student Driver printable sign. Check it out for your area because there’s no way I can be responsible for a ticket. Nope! Not me!

Wow, that IS a super idea! I think I’ll put one on MY car for me. I just can’t seem to get out of ANYONE’S way fast enough. 😛

Lol! There is a lot of impatience in this world. I would have thought Florida would be a little more laid back though?!

Alerting the world to a student driver is always a good idea. Nice share.

Thank you James! I’m hoping it helps the more experienced drivers to exercise patience;0)

I sure hope that she was mouthing “Sorry” – and not something more in line with her honking : )

Lol! I hope so too! It’s amazing how people ‘hide’ behind their cars with obnoxious behavior. Well, they were a little less hidden in their convertible but equally obnoxious;0)

  • We are going through this now and it is freakin harrowing. Thanks for posting. Hello from Thrifty Thursday.
